Advocacy
As a major emphasis of the current MBA strategic plan, advocacy efforts have increased over the last few years to join with those of the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

The NAHB’s current advocacy efforts can be found here
The MBA’s current advocacy priorities are:
-
Review and potential action against local municipalities for the illegal collection and spending of Impact Fees.
-
Review and potential action against local municipalities regarding Connection Fee.
-
Working with members, local utilities, building inspectors and suppliers or electrical equipment to look for alternative methods and more available materials to help combat the severe supply issues and lead times with transformers and meter sockets for electrical services.
The MBA can only be helpful if we are aware of the issues you are having in the residential construction realm. If you are having an issue, we would like to hear about it. Please click here (link to https://forms.office.com/r/309Y9gWR03) to submit your information.
The MBA Construction Advocacy Council meets at the MBA office every second Wednesday of the month at 8:30am. There is also a Utilities Workgroup that meets every three months to sit down with WE Energies, Spectrum, and AT&T to talk about development and building issues.
If you would like to attend, please contact Director of Government Affairs Toby Van Sistine at toby@MBAbuilds.org for more information.
